Match report The hottest day of the year saw the ladies travel to Langley Manor where we lost by only 4 runs last year - a defeat that was still smarting!

Boosted by our 2 last minute replacements - Debbie "I'm supposed to be unpacking" Pienaar and Kathryn " broken nose" Styles - our team spirit was high and although we lost the toss (meaning less time watching the football, what a shame!)we were full of confidence going in to bat. Chloe & Emma got us off to a fine start with all the batsman chipping in, particularly Laura Binstead who has really made her mark as a batsman this season. After a long hot innings we were bowled out in the 31st over for 129.

Excellent all round fielding from the Yorkers meant wickets fell at regular intervals. The celebratory sweets kept the sugar levels and the noise up and there were great stops from Debbie, Kathryn, keeper Sue & Georgina the Gazelle.

Definitely the friendliest opposition in the league, a great match, good win and a long hot drive home in the traffic.
