4th XI Match Report
Yateley won the toss and elected to bat on a green tinged wicket posting a good total of 230 helped by an entertaining 70 from Chandu. Harry Wheeler bowled aggressively and Robin Smith bowled tightly and after the initial breakthrough in the 6th over Thatcham's innings subsided in 'antipodean' fashion.
Ladies 1st XI Match Report
Yateley Ladies had a convincing win against Headley on Sunday. Headley won the toss and chose to field first. Alanna and Rachel got us with to a great start with a partnership of 75, followed by another excellent partnership of Alanna and Fiona 163. Alanna scored her maiden century and was unfortunately run out in the 35th over on 142 - well done Alanna. She was superbly supported by Rachel and later Fiona who scored a quick 55. Yateley finished on 281/3 off 35 overs.
The run rate was just too high for Headley and excellent bowling by Emma Vincent (8-0-19-2) kept the run rate in check and gave us two valuable wickets. She was well supported by Maddie Soames (6-0-21-0) on debut. Jemma (new to ladies cricket this season) bowled beautifully and was rewarded with a stumping by Laura. Headley finished on 163/4.
Special mention of our two U13s who played in their first ladies league match, Maddie & Freya - it was great to have you as part of our team and it’s good to see the girls coming thru the junior section to join us.
Thank you to Bert King for umpiring.
A convincing win of 118 runs of a team placed only one position below us on the league table.
Thank you ladies for a lovely end to our season which sees us finish in the top half of division two - well done.
