Fundraising needed to buy Sean Devereux Park (SDP) and secure our future
At Yateley Cricket Club we play an exciting brand of cricket that has raised our profile in both Hampshire and the Thames Valley.
We’ve become one of the leading clubs in the area with quality coaching of both Juniors and Adults, proudly boasting a large number of qualified coaches; Yateley Cricket Club is a great place to play cricket!
Our club is a Community Association Sports Club (CASC) and a non Profit making organisation, run by volunteers. Currently we lease the ground but our lease is running out and a request to extend it has resulted in the exciting opportunity to purchase the ground outright. Like many clubs we have come to a cross roads and a decision has to be made for the continued growth of cricket at Yateley.
We have received a reasonable offer which will allow the club to safeguard and develop cricket in the Yateley area for generations to come. The Hockey and Football clubs will also be buying their respective plots of land so agreements to maintain the common areas will be put in place.
If we don’t buy the land others will and we may lose control of our grounds. The Committee has agreed to purchase the cricket area of SDP so now we need to raise £15,000 which is 25% of the overall cost of the land to secure our future at SDP.
This is a direct appeal for Members to help achieve our goal by making a donation no matter how large or small, It really will make a difference to your club. We are able to claim gift aid so, tax-payers, your donation will raise another 20% and, of course, any donation will be kept private at all times.
Watch this space as over the next few months we will be launching exciting new initiatives to raise funds including Themed Evenings, Buy a Plaque for a donation, Colts Tournament plus many other ventures.
We will continue to invest in our facilities and playing arena to make sure that Yateley Cricket Club reaches new heights and continues to play an active part in our community
