Cask and Cork Festival – your help needed!

01 May 2019

The Yateley Cask and Cork Festival has been a very successful and popular event over the last three years, raising much needed funds for YCC as well as bringing the wider Yateley community together.

We have received the disappointing news that Yateley United Football Club do not wish to partner with us on the event again this year, leaving YCC to go it alone should we wish to– however we need a lot of support from within Yateley Cricket Club to run the Festival and make it a success. Due to the dates of the cricket season this year, the proposal is to run the Festival on Friday, 13th and Saturday, 14th September.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with a highly popular and fun community event and is also a great way to bring people together from right across YCC. We are looking for people to join the organising committee with specific responsibilities for the following:

·        A project administrator, responsible for ensuring that all other members of the committee are completing tasks as agreed

·        A ticket administrator, responsible for monitoring the ticketing website and distributing tickets once purchased

·        A music coordinator, responsible for sourcing musical acts to perform across the three sessions of the festival

·        A prosecco coordinator, responsible for sourcing a variety of prosecco to be sold during the festival

While we need people for these specific roles, there are several other ad hoc tasks in the lead up to the Festival so we are looking for people who are willing to commit their time and energy to making it as successful as possible. I promise that it is incredibly fun and rewarding!

If you would like to join the organising committee or want more information about the Festival, the time commitments or anything else, please contact Peter Moloney on 07732 822245, p.j.moloney@hotmail.co.uk or Rachel Moloney on 07912 690709, rachelahill@hotmail.co.uk.

If you are interested, please contact either Peter or Rachel by Monday, 7th May at the latest. If we do not receive any volunteers by this point then regrettably we will not be able to proceed with the Festival this year.
