Yateley Cricket Club appoint New Club Captain
I am pleased to announce that we have appointed Chris Petts as Club Captain for 2018. This is a new position which is independent of the skippers on the field of play who are elected at the AGM.
It is important, that as we look to shape the future of the Club, that we have someone independent who can step back from the day to day issues and ensure we meet the needs of our players as well as the general cricket environment. Chris will have the freedom to get involved in the all aspects of Cricket at the club using his enormous experience and respect as a former 1st XI and 2nd XI captain and players will feel comfortable to talk to Chris and air their views. This is therefore a key role in the forward planning of the cricket side of the club
Chris has been at Yateley for 10+ years and previously played his cricket at Sunbury Cricket Club who are a major force in Surrey Cricket. Chris’s experience at all levels of the Club is second to none and I hope this appointment can help the Cricket Committee create a spirit and atmosphere that will ensure the Club is a major force in the area for many years to come.
