Yateley reach the final of the Aylward Cup after a close win over Aldershot.

Yateley looked to be in for an easy victory when Anthony Muir 3 for 19 and Harry Bartlett 2 for 23 ripped the heart out of the Aldershot batting. Aldershot were 43 for 6 when Harris was run out off the last ball of the 8th over. McCaffrey 21no and Hameed 17 rallied but Stuart Lipo, Gerhardt and Jacques Pienaar ensured that Yateley stayed on top as Aldershot were bowled out for 87.

Yateley started badly losing Jimmy Halson and Sebanja in the first over, Jon Dow and Jacques Pienaar followed soon after and we are struggling at 18 for 4. Dan Bone then came to the rescue with Dan Vincent. They added 35 for the 5th wicket before Vincent was bowled round his legs. The pressure increased when Stuart Lipo was given out LBW when he clearly hit the ball. Dan Bone looked like he would see Yateley through to victory when he swung across the line and was bowled for 40  with score on 73-7. Yateley's bowling hero's Muir and Bartlett then showed their batting prowess as they ground out the 15 required for victory as Yateley won by 3 wickets with 7 balls to spare. Dan Bone excelled for in Yateley's scoring half the total on a pitch where scoring was not easy.

Yateley now await to hear who they will play in the final on Tuesday 26th July at Hartley Wintney CC.
