Yateley Cricket Club Lost by 41 runs

Match report Lost the toss and was asked to field first!
Took us a while to make any inroads and we were staring down the barrel at half-way with Reading only 2 down and steaming along at 6 an over.
But once the Forsters combined to take the first wicket, the tide slowly turned, and then all the bowlers chipped in to rein them back to 186ao - a decent effort.
This seemed to be backed up as we started our reply because the outfield was as rapid as anything we had seen all season.
But a steady start of 32 off 7 was rudely interrupted with 2 wkts falling in the 8th. From that point, things started to unravel and in spite of sterling efforts from the McGowans junior and senior, we steadily fell behind the asking rate and then wkts started to tumble under the strain. We fell 40 short in the end. Disappointing because we had enough in us to chase down that total.
Oh well!
