“Our Under 11s indoor squad – winners of the North Hampshire Cup Final beating Fleet by 93 runs”

“Our Under 13s indoor squad – runners up to Hook in their final losing by just 8 runs in a nail-biting match”

Last Sunday saw both our Under 11 and Under 13 indoor teams compete in their respective North Hampshire Cup Finals at Eversley Indoor Centre having come through their matches unbeaten.
First up were the U11s who played Fleet and, in the words of Colin Justice “played about the perfect indoor game and were simply outstanding”. In fact batting first they scored 142 in their 12 overs for the loss of just one wicket with clinical running between the wickets which Fleet were powerless to stop. The best though was probably still to come as accurate bowling backed up by stunning fielding saw a good Fleet side bowled out for 49 and a win by 93 runs. Well played lads – first silverware of the new season.
Next up were the U13s against Hook who opted to bat first. Again the bowling was exceptional and with solid fielding, we were delighted to restrict Hook to just 85. Hook put us under immediate pressure with their district bowlers giving nothing away. We were well behind the run rate with Hook well on top but a couple of high scoring overs swung the game our way and put us in control. We needed 8 off 9 balls with 3 wickets left but Hook came back strongly and we lost our last three wickets without adding to the score to be pipped at the post.
Both sides represented the club with real distinction showing great skills and sportsmanship – thank you lads and very well played.
Now both squads continue in the North Hampshire league competition at Dummer. In fact both played during this last week winning both their games
