Match report After losing the toss (yes, another one), Yateley were put into bat (which is what we wanted to do anyway) but after a bad start, losing our first wicket of James Halson with the score on 7 we thought that it would be a tough day at the office but Ollie Soames and James Muir had different ideas and built a partnership of 107. After Ollie was out for 59 with the score on 114, Dan Bone and James Muir continued to score and build the innings with Dan departing 10 short of a deserved 50 with the score now on 186 in the 39th over to leave the innings in a good situation for our big hitters. James Muir followed shortly for a very good 78 leaving Anthony Muir and Jonthan Ssebanja to take the innings home and get Yateley to 271 of 52 overs with Jonathan Ssebanja scoring 33 and Anthony Muir finishing on 30 not out. Yateley took to the field in high spirits following good wins the previous Saturday and Tuesday and once again took the old ball with Anthony Muir striking early in the 4th over and then again in the 6th and 8th overs to leave Beaconsfield 27 for 4. Gerhard Pienaar finally struck for a well deserved wicket in the 13th over and Anthony Muir taking his 5th wicket in the 17th over, meaning Beaconsfield were struggling on 39 for 6. But Yateley were unable to take any further wickets until the 28th over and in search for the remaining 3 wickets Yateley were unable to take their chances and could only manage to take 9 wickets with Beaconsfield on 177 off there 48 overs. After the weekend, this still leaves Yateley in 3rd place but have managed to close the gap to top of the league Marlow (who we still have to play) to now 11 points with 5 games remaining. Promotion winning push to the finish now! Thanks to our supporters once again and to Gerhard Pienaar for filling in last minute. Great game and lots of positives.
