Match report With 100% record of losing the toss maintained, Yateley took to the field on a blistering hot day. Despite a tinge of green to the wicket it soon became obvious that the wicket offered little assistance to the seam bowlers, playing low & slow. No problem says Haig Franklin (11.3-0-33-8) who then proceeded to confuse Thatcham with a mixture of tight and well flighted bowling. Haig was well supported by T Halson 6-1-18-0 & S Sugars 3-0-10-1 who bowled tidy spells to keep the pressure on Thatcham.

With a low total to chase Yateley got off to a brisk start with M Handocok dispatching the 2nd over for 13, unfortunately a minor stumble saw Yateley reduced to 22 for 3 With Mark's impressive foot movement to avoid a ball he thought was going leg side resulting in him losing his leg stump! G Boughton & H Maxfield then put on a partnership of 52 to all but see Yateley Home. George finally lost patience and tried to back foot drive a ball he should have got his front foot out to, falling with the total on 74. Harry continued on but finally succumbed with the total 5 short of the target, leaving D MacGregor & A Matthews to see Yateley home.

A good effort all-round.
