Yateley Cricket Club hosts Kwik Cricket Tournament for local schools

st May saw Chandler’s Lane play host to the first Mixed Kwik Cricket Tournament for local schools organised by the Ladies and Girls Committee. Ten teams arrived from Westfields Junior, Cranford Primary, Frogmore Junior, Newlands Primary, Charles Kingsley Primary and Yateley Manor. Girls and boys aged between 7 and 11 played in two divisions to compete for the coveted Edwards and Atkins trophies.
The weather proved perfect for swing bowlers whilst the cooler temperature ensured the perfect conditions for rapid running between the wickets. The spectators cheered as players dived, chased and fielded enthusiastically!
Great team spirit, sportsmanship and a sense of fair play were evident amongst the children whilst the dedicated band of YCC helpers made sure that the whole afternoon went smoothly and was enjoyable for all.
