Match report On an absolute belter of a pitch Yateley won the toss and decided to field. Aldershot started well and it soon became apparent this was a day for batting. Our girls bowled well hardly any extras but the bat was on top and Aldershot smashed their way to 149 off the 20 overs. So on with the chase. Maria soon got stuck in and was retired on 33 after only 3.5 overs. Lottie and Lexi continued the chase on schedule as we continued to get the required 7.5 runs an over. Lottie finally got out for first time this season - at least she now has an average! Something around 80!! Lexi then retired and Philippa and Millie took over scrambling some great runs and keeping the scoreboard ticking over nicely. At half way we were roughly on schedule with 73. Millie retired so we had plenty of batting waiting to come back in. This allowed Amelie, Maja and Ary to really test the Aldershot fielders with some great running between the wickets. Maria came back in with a couple of overs to go to smash a few more 4s and bring up her first ever 50. The last couple of overs were pandemonium as every ball either went to the boundary or the girls tried some desperate running in an effort to get home. In the end Maria went for one crazy run to many and our race was run. It was an amazing match. Aldershot were a nice team to play against. Both teams scored over 100 runs off the bat (hardly any extras) this was a proper game and a great advertisement for U13 girl cricket. We came up short but was definitely one of the most fun games played this season. Well played girls!
