Match report On a nice evening on a really good pitch Yateley lost the toss and were put in. Our openers saw off their county bowlers then Maria seeing the first let up in standard decided to go for the glory lofted straight drive which worked so well at Hartley Whitney - it didn’t go so well this time. A mini collapse then occurred as Florence got an impressive hat-trick. Sitting at 18/3 we were in a bit of trouble with 3 of our top bats in the shed. However this was a time for hero’s and the rest of the girls batted superbly to get us up to 103/5 off the 20 overs. Millie with a seasons best undefeated 15 including a beautiful offside four. Lottie once again finished not out (she hasn’t been out for Yateley yet!) and Ary having to retire - all superb. After the break which included birthday treats from Niamh (happy birthday!). Eversley got off to a rapid start with lots of good running between the wickets and a few over zealous shys at the stumps put them well ahead of the game at half way. The bowling from everyone was really tidy it was more fielding that we could look to improve on. At this point it seemed a foregone conclusion the Eversley were going to romp home. However a magical spell from Ary kept the game from being completely done as she took 3 wickets and bowled good ball after good ball. For someone of her age against some clubber batsmen this really was top draw stuff. Unfortunately Eversley eventually got the runs with 3 overs to go. This was a really nice game played in a very friendly spirit between the 2 sides. Well played girls.
