Match report Rain, rain, go away, come again........well preferably any day the Ladies aren't due to play!

A very tight performance against a strong side who knocked up 260 against St Cross (second in the league 2009) last week. The Yorkers really had them on the back foot with some accurate bowling from Rachel D that they struggled to play and wickets from Emma V, Ellen & Chloe that removed their top batsmen.
Our batting was strong and we achieved a run rate in excess of our target of 4 an over. We were slightly let down by our fielding - BBB ladies!!!! - and that probably ultimately lost us the game. However, given the cold & wet our overall game was on a par with theirs. And, of course, our team spirit (and dare I say it, sense of FUN!!!!) eclipsed theirs by miles. Rather sickening to lose by one run due to some archaic rule, but I suppose that's cricket.
