| 17 Sept 2005 - Michael Bates for England Under 15 Squad |
Colin Justice writes "I am delighted to tell the club that our 14 year old wicket keeper/ batsman Michael Bates has been selected to train with the England Under 15 squad this winter. This is a fantastic achievement on Michael's behalf and I am sure that the whole club would like to join me in heartily congratulating Michael on this outstanding achivevement. This season Michael made his debut for the Saturday first eleven as probably the youngest player ever to hold down a regular place fully on merit. Later in the season, he was selected to keep wicket for the full Hampshire Academy team in the Southern League. I can assure you that they have a bowling attack which takes some keeping to and the reports I have is that Michael has done extremely well. To all the colts in the club, I would just like to say that Michael is a perfect role model for you to copy. He has always worked very hard at his game, shows great sportsmanship and is very modest about everything that he achieves. Michael has also been selected for the West of England Under 15 squad to go to the West Indies in the spring. All this is a heavy financial commitment for Michael and we will be in touch to tell you about some fund raising support that the club has in mind. Well done Michael and very best wishes from all at Yateley for a very enjoyable winter." |

| 9 July 2005 - Overseas Cricket Associates |
At the moment, the Overseas Cricket Associates have a very high demand for cricketers wanting to play in Australia and New Zealand for the forthcoming season starting mid-September. If you think you are a talented cricketer who may be interested you can contact them, either via email, or register through their website www.overseascricket.co.uk - this is in fact the best way of getting maximum exposure as clubs can view all available cricketers CV's and receive email alerts when a player matching a clubs requirements registers. |
