LADIES CRICKET

Yateley Ladies team was formed in 2006. We are made up mainly of mums who have children playing at the club, but have benefited this season from the addition of other local players whose clubs don't, as yet, have a ladies section. In 2006 we played incrediball cricket against the U9's, the girls team and once against the U11's, where we put up a very creditable performance against some extremely aggressive fielding positions!!

Over the winter we have been training hard under the experienced coaching of Jeremy Frith and his team at Dummer Cricket Centre. Due to their enthusiasm and support we have improved our skills and knowledge and had great fun at the same time. We plan to run two sides this season - a soft ball side for those who just want to 'have a go' in a relaxed setting. These matches will be played - as last year - mostly 'in house' against Yateley colts teams. Our main team will play hard ball for the first time this season and, as such, we are looking for other ladies sides to play on a friendly basis.

If you are over 15 (there are girls teams for U13's & U15's) and would like to experience this fantastic game in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere or if you are interested in a fixture, please contact Emma Cowdrill - emip7-cricket@yahoo.co.uk
