Wed 11 October - Final Report of the Season

Tracey Dyos reports
On Wednesday 11th October the Yateley Cricket Club Ladies went to the Metropole Social Club for the league presentation night.. just to show the cricket-playing men that we can win trophies as well as they can! We had an excellent season, finishing top of the league and also winning the gallon title. Not content with that, Chris also won the trophy for being the player who scored the most 95+ in the league. It capped a brilliant evening for the team who are all looking forward to trying to do just as well in the Winter league.

Wed 6 September - Anchor (Three Counties League)

Tracey Dyos reports
With a home game next week against the same opponents we were hoping for a good result to help our final push for promotion. Things didn't go to plan with only Janette winning in the singles, though the other games should have had different outcomes! We did no better in the pairs, with only Rose and Chris winning a game. Before playing the gallon,we knew this was to be our worst defeat of the season so we were determined to gain one more point. At last a game went our way and the gallon was won. Final score, Anchor 6 . Yateley 3

Thurs 31 August - Lightwater CIU (Camberley Ladies League)

Tracey Dyos reports
Playing against a depleted Lightwater team of only 3 players we were hopeful of a winning result, but never in our wildest dreams did we think we could achieve the result we ended with. Rene, Steph, Sally and Trace all won their singles and then the good playing carried on in the pairs with Sally and Steph and Trace and Rene winning all the games. With just the gallon to play, could we manage our first ever 9 . 0 win in 13 years of trying. YES, we could..the only problem being that we were too shocked to celebrate!!

Wed 30 August - Hawley Bridge (Three Counties League)

Tracey Dyos reports
We were hoping, to keep up the good form of Wednesday nights, but things didn't look good when Rene was unlucky to lose the first game of the evening. HoweverChris,Trace and Rose all won to give us a boost. In the pairs Chris and Rose won both their games and Trace and Rene won one to give us an even better scoreline. Things continued in the gallon to give us a final score of a 7 . 2 win to Yateley.

Thurs 24 August - Frimley Green WMC (Camberley Ladies League)

Tracey Dyos reports
The girls from Frimley Green are never an easy team to score points against and tonight was no exception. Rene and Rose both did well to win their singles while Trace and Sally both lost out in hard fought games against Janet and Myrian. It was to prove even more difficult in the pairs after Rose decided to have a rest, so with Rene paired with Jan and the ever useless pairing of Trace and Sally we lost all four games. We did improve in the gallon to take the point but the match was well and truly lost..final score Yateley 3 . Frimley Green 6

Thurs 17 August - Metropole A (Camberley Ladies League)

Tracey Dyos reports
An excellent start with Steph, Trace and Rene all winning their singles and only Sally narrowly missing out. Things went rapidly downhill after that, and we failed to win another game all night. Final score Yateley 3 , Metropole 6.

Wed 16 August - White Swan (Three Counties League)

Tracey Dyos reports
We were hoping for a good result against a much improved White Swan team to keep us near the top of the league. Rene and Chris both won their singles, while Rose and Janette were unlucky to lose. We played much better in the pairs with Chris and Rose winning both their games and Janette and Rene also winning both their games. The match was won with the gallon still to be played, and a win in that just added to what was already a good result.Final score Yateley 7 . White Swan 2.

Wed 9 August - Railway Arms A (Three Counties League)

Tracey Dyos reports
A match which we knew was going to be difficult to get a winning result, and it proved to be again. Chris and Rene won their singles while Rose was unlucky and Trace knew Vie would be upset if she wasv beaten (BAD LOSER!!)
We went into the pairs level at 2-2 and finished the pairs with the scores level at 4-4. Yet again the Gallon was to be the decider and as it is a 3-leg game the inevitable happened - we were level at 1-1. The final leg saw Yateley 200+ in front. But we couldn't get the all important double. The match ended in a 5-4 defeat - only our second loss this season, both by 5-5, and both tp the railway Arms.

Thurs 3 August - Camberley RBL (Camberley Ladies League)

Tracey Dyos reports
We started excellently with Steph, Rene & race all winning. Sally was unlucky to lose against an in-form Anita, but, with a 3-1 lead we were hopeful of a good end-result, tghings didn't go to plan, and we lost all our pairs. We didn't fare any better in the Gallon and the match ended in a 6-3 defeat.

Wed 2 August - Dog & Partridge (Three Counties League)

Tracey Dyos reports
Rose and Rene were both unlucky to lose their singles, but Chris and Trace both won to level the score. We played much better in the pairs with Chris & Rose winning one game and trace & rene winning two. We carried on the winning streak in the Gallon to give us a final score of a 6-3 win for Yateley.

Wed 26 July - Hawley Arms (Three Counties League)

Tracey Dyos reports
A good start to the match with Rose, Chris and Rene all winning their singles to give us a 3.1 lead. Chris and Rose won both their pairs and Rene and Trace won one of their games. We carried on the winning in the gallon to give us a final score of a 7.2 win to Yateley.

Thurs 20 July - Frimley Community (Camberley Ladies League)

Tracey Dyos reports
We always struggle to do well against Frimley, and it was no exception this time! Steph was the only one to win in the singles, though we fared slightly better in the pairs..with Sally and Steph and Trace and Rene winning their games. We should have won the gallon but just couldn't get the double when it mattered. Its never easy playing against your team-mates,as we found out. Both Chris and Janette play for Yateley CC on a wednesday and much as we want them to win in that league,we really hoped they were off form thursday!

Chris found it easy to get the doubles on the dartboard while Janette found it easier to get them from the bar!!

Thurs 13 July - Metropole B (Camberley Ladies League)

Tracey Dyos reports
Sally and Steph came up against Gill and Jenny in the singles, both who play for us in the winter league..and they both won against us in this game!

Trace and Rene managed to level the score at 2.2 after the singles. Sally and Steph came up against Gill and Jenny in the pairs and again the opposition got the point. Jan and Rose came in to play two games, and they won them both! Trace and Rene ended the pairs on a winning note to give us a 5.3 lead. We carried on the winning way by getting the all important double in the gallon to give us a final score of a 6.3 win to Yateley.

Wed 12 July - Hawley Bridge (Three Counties League)

Tracey Dyos reports
An excellent start with Rene,Janette,Chris and Trace all winning their singles. Rose came in to partner Chris in the pairs and they won both games, playing very well. Rene and Janette won one game and were extremely unlucky to lose the other,as they also played excellently. Not content with being 7.1 up in the match we went on to win the gallon to give us a final score of an 8.1 victory to Yateley.

Thurs 6 July - Lightwater CIU (Camberley Ladies League)

Tracey Dyos reports
We welcomed Sally back tonight after the birth of her son, and she got us off to a winning start. Rose, Trace and Rene all followed suit to give us all the points from the singles. Trace and Rene won both their pairs and Sally and Rose won one of their games. The winning stopped in the gallon, but we achieved a very good 7.2 win for the second time in two days!! WELL PLAYED GIRLS!

Wed 5 July - Railway Arms B (Three Counties League)

Tracey Dyos reports
Rene got us off to a winning start, closely followed by Chris and Trace.Rose couldn't manage to give us a clean sweep in the singles, but we were happy to win the first three. Chris and Rose won both their pairs while Rene and Trace won one and lost one. The match was won but we carried on the winning in the gallon to give us a final score of a 7.2 win to Yateley.

Thurs 29 June - Frimley Green WMC (Camberley Ladies League)

Tracey Dyos reports
Although we all played fairly well in the singles Rose, Rene and Steph lost their games but Trace got us a point. We didn't do much better in the pairs with Jan and Rose losing both their games and Trace and Rene winning one and losing one. We played much better in the gallon and thanks to Steph getting the vital double we came away with three points.Final score.. Frimley 6, Yateley 3.

Wed 28 June - White Swan (Three Counties League)

Tracey Dyos reports
We got off to a terrible start with Rene,Rose and Trace all losing their games.Chris played very well and managed to get us a point on the board! We improved dramatically in the pairs and won all four games, but the improvement didn't last through the gallon. However,we had done enough to win the match with a final score of 5.4 to Yateley.

Wed 21 June - Railway Arms A (Three Counties League)

Tracey Dyos reports
The Railway always give us a hard match, usually with us coming second; so we expected a tough game. Things didn't go to plan with Rene,Chris and Rose all unlucky to lose, but Trace managed to get us a point on the board. We managed to convince Janette Morelli that she really wanted to play for us,and after some persuasion she signed! Chris and Janette play together on a Thursday so it was an easy decision to put them together in the pairs. They managed to win one game and Rene and Trace won another so although we had lost the match the score was not as bad as we feared after the singles. Rose returned to play well in the gallon and we won it easily to give us a final score of a 4 . 5 defeat.

Wed 14 June - Dog & Partridge (Three Counties League)

Tracey Dyos reports
This was the first match for Chris, our new player, and she didn't let us down! With Trace and Rose losing in the singles,it was Chris and Rene who kept the score level. Rene and Trace won both their pairs while Chris and Rose were unlucky to lose their games. Going into the gallon the score was 4-4,so it was important we did well. The gallon is best of 3 legs, and we managed a fairly comfortable 2-0 win with Chris and Rene hitting the vital doubles. The evening ended with a very pleasing result...a 5 - 4 win to Yateley.

Wed 7 June - Hawley Arms (Three Counties League)

Tracey Dyos reports
We hoped for a good start to the season, and although we had tough opposition we achieved it! Sally was unlucky to lose the first game of singles, but Rose,Trace and Rene all won their games. The good form continued in the pairs with Sally and Rose winning one game and Rene and Trace winning both theirs. going into the gallon,we had already won the match, and as we played three players against Hawley's four, we didn't hold out much hope. Hawley won, though not as easily as they could have. The evening ended in a final score of 6 . 3 to Yateley.

Next week we welcome a new player to the team.. Chris Westbrook has agreed to join us, and we'd rather have her on our side than against us! Chris has recently won the singles title in our Thursday league..playing for our friends from Frimley Community Centre. Sally is taking a well deserved rest until she's had her baby, which could be any day now,but she assures us she'll be back raring to play again.
